I acquired this DWP eight on eBay from Colin Ware in 2024.
The DWP ismilled from aluminum alloy. Mine is 175 mm. tall, 132 mm. wide, and 12 mm. thick. The rope hole is 56 mm. high and 55 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 12 mm. The shaft length and width are 61 mm. and 30 mm., respectively. The eye measures 24 mm. by 12 mm. The ears are 18.3 mm. long. My DWP weighs 235 g.
Both sides of the shaft are stamped "DWP."
The DWP is appears to be a well-executed homemade copy of the Aircraft Materials Ltd., Version A, but it may have been produced commerially - I just don't know.
The DWP. is somewhat larger than a typical full size figure eight with ears, but it is not as large as the typical rescue eight.
The DWP eight is somewhat long and chunky-looking. I have little doubt that it was designed for great strength, as if that provides value; the down side is that the eight weighs more than it needs to
The ears are smaller than on some rescue eights and they do not have a hook to them. Following common practice, the ears are placed too high on the eight.
The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
