I acquired my Swaygo Rack Trap from Swaygo Gear in 2007, and mounted it on an SMC rack. I will not describe the rack frame or other bars here.
The Rack Trap is made from a stamped piece of 2.7 mm. stainless steel and two short pieces of plastic tubing. It is 46 mm. tall, 57 mm. wide, 26 mm. thick, and weighs 92 g.
There are no markings on this Rack Trap, but it is only a prototype.
Scott McCrea developed the Rack Trap. Here is the story behind it, in his words:
It was inspired by the Rack Chock on your web site. It gives you a place to hold the rope when you lock off, and it moves the top bar 3/4" [19 mm.] farther up the rack, allowing more spreading space. We call it the Rack Trap (because it traps the rope during lock-offs and it’s shaped like a trapezoid
I noticed that the Rack Trap tends to tilt a bit to one side, although using a grooved bar below the Trap tends to stop that. I suggested making the spacers a bit longer, but Scott felt that they might be too controversial.
I like the way that the Rack Trap increases the working length of the rack.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
