I acquired this Tashkent Aviation Plant eight on eBay from Artyom Babin (Артём Бабин) in 2024.
This eight is milled from aluminum alloy plate. Mine is 111 mm. tall, 91 mm. wide, and 10 mm. thick. The rope hole is 61 mm. high and 59 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 10 mm. The shaft length and width are 9 mm. and 43 mm., respectively. The eye measures 23 mm. by 22 mm. The ears are 23.4 and 21.7 mm. long. My eight weighs 97 g.
There are no markings on tis eight.
The Tashkent Aviation Plant eight falls into my miscellaneous figure eights with ears category.
This eight is lighter than most figure eights with ears. The ears are rather unique, making this eight function somewhat like the T-side figure eights. The ears on this eight are less aggressive than the others, so it is easier to slip the rope off the ears (intentionally or unintentionally).
The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners.
Ridges on the inside of the rope hole and eye suggest that the corner-rounding end mill used to round the inner corners was not set correctly. This is a cosmetic issue that does not affect this eight's serviceability.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
