Artyom Babin (Артём Бабин) sent me this Gallis eight in 2022.
The Gallis is forged from aluminum alloy. Mine is 108 mm. tall, 83 mm. wide, and 10 mm. thick. The rope hole is 59 mm. high and 35 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 10 mm. The shaft length and width are 11 mm. and 32 mm., respectively. The eye measures 15 mm. by 15 mm. The ears are 29.5 and 26 mm. long. My Gallis weighs 93 g.
"Gallis" is forged on one side of the eight.
Gallis is a Ukrainian compnay that produced eights in the City of Kharkkiv in the 1990s.
This is another T–side eight. The ears are on the side where they provide a convenient place to loop the rope for tie-offs. This is a nice place for the ears, since they can actually serve a useful function here. This was a common design in Russia, and is superior to the common American "rescue 8" design for normal caving .
The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
