I acquired my Rescue Q, Version A from Collon Phillips in 2015.
The Rescue Q, Version A is forged from aluminum alloy and then hard anodized. Mine is 190 mm. tall, 114 mm. wide, and 13 mm. thick. The rope hole is 69 mm. high and 68 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 13 mm. The shaft length and width are 63 mm. and 40 mm., respectively. The auxiliary hole is 38 mm. high and 16.3 mm. wide. The eye measures 25 mm. by 29 mm. The ears are 38.1 and 36.8 mm. long. My Rescue Q, Version A weighs 238 g.
The front of the Rescue Q is stamped with the RQ3 logo. The rear is stamped with "PAT. PEND."
The Rescue Q is another T–side eight. It reminds me of the SBCI Sidewinder and the Unknown, although Several Russian Eights have similar ears on the side.
The ears are on the side where they provide a convenient place to loop the rope for tie-offs. This is a nice place for the ears, since they can actually serve a useful function here. The curved upper ear provides for a secure tie-off, and the eye is large enough for two carabiners.
The Rescue Q is too large and heavy for my taste. The belay slot is too large for normal ropes, but might work for the hawsers sometimes used in the rescue community.
The markings suggest that this is an earlier version than Versions B or C. My comments on Version E apply to this eight as well.

PEND."
Other than being soft-anodized, Version B is identical to Version A.

The top center thickness is 13 mm. The shaft length and width are 64 mm. and 40 mm., respectively. The auxiliary hole is 40.2 mm. high and 15.7 mm. wide. The eye measures 25 mm. by 29 mm. The ears are 36.6 and 42.4 mm. long. My Rescue Q, Version D weighs 246 g.
The front of the Rescue Q is stamped with the RQ3 logo, "www.rescuesource.com," and "6934." The rear is stamped with the Underwriters Laboratories Classified stamp, "MEETS NFPA 1983 (2001 ED)," and "’G’ MSB 36 kN."
The Rescue Q is another T–side eight.
Although morphology and acquisition dates suggest a different order, the markings suggest that this is a later version than Versions A and B (which have no lot numbers or certification marks) and earlier than Version E (which has a higher lot number).
The edges of the belay slot are not as well-rounded as on the other two versions, but it is functional and I don't see this as a big disadvantage. My comments on Version A apply to this eight as well.

The Rescue Q is another T–side eight.
The lower horn has been reduced in size without sacrificing utility, a desirable improvement. The edges of the belay slot have returned to the earlier, more rounded form, another improvement. My comments on Version A apply to this eight as well.

I acquired my Rescue Q Mini, Version A on eBay from Robert Moser at NC Rescue Tech in 2019.
This Mini is forged from aluminum alloy and then soft anodized. Mine is 100 mm. tall, 65 mm. wide, and 9 mm. thick. The rope hole is 35 mm. high and 35 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 9 mm. The shaft length and width are 29 mm. and 21 mm., respectively. The eye measures 17 mm. by 17 mm. The ears are 21.6 and 23.1 mm. long. My Rescue Q Mini, Version A weighs 61 g.
The front of this eight is stamped with the RQ3 logo. The rear is stamped with the Underwriters Laboratories Classified stamp, "MEETS NFPA 1983 (2001 ED)," "’G’ MSB 36 kN," and "LOT #7727."
The Rescue Q Mini, Version A is another T–side eight.
The Rescue Q Mini, Version A is lighter than most figure eights with ears. The rope hole is shorter and narrower than normal, so it may provide too much friction on stiff or muddy ropes. The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners. Overall, I find it to be too small for routine use.
