I acquired this eight from Sarah Arsenaut in 2021.
This eight is forged from aluminum alloy. It is 163 mm. tall, 80 mm. wide, and 14 mm. thick. The rope hole is 54 mm. high and 53 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 14 mm. The shaft length and width are 62 mm. and 24 mm., respectively. The eye measures 23 mm. by 22 mm. My eight weighs 160 g.
This is one of my large forged aluminum figure eights. I do not know the origin of this eight. The eight bears a strong resemblance to the large Clog eights, but it is much thinner and the other dimensions do not match. It also resembles Unknown eight #2, but again, the dimensions do not match.
The shaft on one side of this eight appears to have been ground into a convex shape with a belt sander, but is is not obvious why this would have been done.
This eight is too heavy for my taste. The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners.
For far more content, use a larger monitor and a full-width window.
