I acquired my ArcherGear eight from Dancing Buddha on Amazon.com in 2017.
The ArcherGear is forged from aluminum alloy and then soft anodized. Mine is 136 mm. tall, 75 mm. wide, and 15 mm. thick. The rope hole is 52 mm. high and 52 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 10 mm. The shaft length and width are 30 mm. and 27 mm. , respectively. The eye measures 32 mm. by 23 mm. My eight weighs 113 g.
The front shaft is printed with "ArcherGear." Both sides of the shaft have "SOB" forged in raised letters.
The ArcherGear eight is at the lower end of the size range for a full sized, forged, aluminum figure eight. The ArcherGear is lighter than most figure eights. The eye has a strange shape, and is not particularly suited for belaying. The eye is too narrow to accept two full size locking carabiners.
This eight is clearly a rebrainding of an SOB eight.
