I acquired five Rescue Tech, Version A figure eights from Roger Clanton in 2011.
Version A is forged from aluminum alloy and then soft anodized. Mine is 139 mm. tall, 73 mm. wide, and 12 mm. thick. The rope hole is 49 mm. high and 49 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 12 mm. The shaft length and width are 42 mm. and 24 mm., respectively. The eye measures 24 mm. by 24 mm. My eight weighs 111 g.
One side is marked with "RESCUE" and "TECH." The other side has a printed strength test icon (not a rigging illustration!) with "KN▲35" above and "▼" below.
The Rescue Tech, Version A is a full sized, forged, aluminum figure eight.
This eight will wear quickly because the soft anodizing provides little protection.
This may be my eight of choice for a while, not because of any outstanding feature, but because it is perfectly servicable and I now have five of them, so I can afford to lose or destroy one.
