Michael Oatney gave me this ladder in 2023. He does not remember where he obtained it, nor from whom.
This ladder is 10 m. long with 32 aluminum rungs spaced 305 mm. apart. Each rung is 155 mm. long and 12.6 mm. in diameter with a 1.8 mm. wall thickness. The cable is 4.3 mm. galvanized steel. The rungs are secured by internal plugs. The eyes are crimped with eye protectors.
There are no markings on this ladder.
Galvanized cables eventually rust, and this ladder's cable has rusted in several places. The most likely place to find rust is inside the crimps where dissimilar metals make good electrical contact. Unfortunately, this area is not visible for inspection.
Somebody coated most of the rungs with a non-slip paint, leaving nine rungs bare at one end.

Michael Oatney gave me this ladder in 2023.
This ladder is 8.6 m. long with 28 aluminum rungs spaced 308 mm. apart. Each rung is 153.7 mm. long and 12.8 mm. in diameter with a 1.9 mm. wall thickness. The cable is 4.3 mm. galvanized steel. The rungs are secured by a single internal crimped plug. This required drilling the rungs to allow access to the crimp. The eyes are crimped with eye protectors and Brummel hooks.
There are no markings on this ladder.
The single crimp may be more economical and it eliminates the risk of placing top and bottom crimps too close to the rungs, but I never particularly liked the idea of putting large holes in the sides of the rungs. The crimped plug used on this ladder provides more rung support than the small crimps used on the Pierre Allain ladders.
Galvanized cables eventually rust, and this ladder's cable has rusted in several places. The most likely place to find rust is inside the crimps where dissimilar metals make good electrical contact. Unfortunately, this area is not visible for inspection.
Somebody coated the rungs with a non-slip paint.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
