Technical Details

Mike Moser gave me this rack at the 2007 NSS Convention. It was made by Jeff Gilchrest.

The rack is 310 mm. tall, 76 mm. wide, and 23 mm. thick. The frame is 9.3 mm. in diameter, and the bars are made from 22.4 mm. diameter steel pipe with a 3.9 mm. wall thickness. There is a spring around the frame at the top of the rack that helps keep the top bar straight. The eye is welded. The rack weighs 889 g.

There are no markings on this rack.

Comments

This rack is homemade, and each of the bars has a different length. They slide freely, but the short length of the open side limits the total bar movement unnecessarily. The rack has seen heavy use - the rope grooves on the bars came from use (they were not filed), and some are 2.9 mm. deep.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
