Technical Details

I acquired this rack from Artyom Babin (Артём Бабин) in 2020.

Version A is 222 mm. tall, 64 mm. wide, 22 mm. thick, and weighs 414 g. The frame is made from 7.2 mm. steel bent into a U, with an internal width of 24 mm. There are 4 hollow steel brake bars, one of which is a hyperbar. The bars are 22 mm. in diameter. The standard bars are 45 mm. long and the hyperbar is 64 mm. long. Allowing 35 mm. for the rope leaves 65 mm. for spreading the bars. The stainless steel tubular posts are threaded in place.

The hyperbar is etched with "00709.20" and "Рцнг," both inverted.

Comments

This is a well-made rack. What I like most are the posts at the top. They are long enough to allow running the rope over the top of the rack for tying off, and they have no sharp edges.

The rack and bars are steel. The finish will help prevent rusting, but I can expect some minor rusting where it is scratched off.

The down-pointing hyperbar is useless except for tying off, and even then it is unnecessary. Worse, the gap between the end of the lower bar and the post on the hyperbar is only 8.2 mm, so there is not enough room for 9-11 mm. ropes.

Technical Details

Artyom Babin (Артём Бабин) sent me this rack in 2021.

Version B rack is 222 mm. tall, 64 mm. wide, 21 mm. thick, and weighs 407 g. The frame is made from 7.2 mm. steel bent into a U, with an internal width of 23 mm. There are four 22 mm. diameter brake bars. The standard bars are 44 mm. long and the hyperbars are 64 mm. long. Allowing 35 mm. for the rope leaves 67 mm. for spreading the bars. The stainless steel tubular posts are threaded in place.

The hyperbar is etched with "00164.21" and "Рцнг," both inverted.

Comments

Like version A, this is a well-made rack, and my comments for that version apply to this one as well.

The gap between the post on the top hyperbar and the post on the frame is 11 mm, so an 11 mm rope will fit here, but like Version A, the gap between the end of the lower bar and the post on the hyperbar is only 8.2 mm, so there is not enough room for 9-11 mm. ropes.
