Artyom Babin (Артём Бабин) sent me this Spassnaryazhenie descender in 2023.
My Spassnaryazhenie is 56 mm. tall, 80 mm. wide, 25 mm. thick, and weighs 183 g.
My Spassnaryazhenie is made from two 2.9 mm. steel plates. They are separated by two bollards with recessed ends that are crimped in place. Each bollard is 20 mm. in diameter whth shoulders that separate the plates by 14.7 mm. A 9.4 mm-wide, 4.5 mm. deep U-shaped groove in each bollard centers the rope.
One plate is stamped "480."
Артём did not know the name for this descender, only saying that it was made by Boris Kashevnik's company Spassnaryazhenie.
There were no directions provided with this device, but there are at least two obvious ways one might use it. One is to push a bight in from the left, then clip a carabiner through the device and the eye. A lower-friction option is to push a bight in from the right, and then add a second carabiner to act as a brake bar.
