I acquired my John Woods from John Woods in 2015.
The John Woods is 207 mm. tall, 47 mm. wide, 36 mm. thick, and weighs 269 g.
The two side plates are home made of 35 by 3.75 mm. aluminum. The attachment point on the fixed side plate is a 30 mm. high by 14 mm. wide hole located 2.5 mm. off center. A similar hole on the pivoting side plate has been cut open on the narrow side, so the side plate resembles a hook. The opening of the hook is covered by a spring loaded, home-made stamped steel, sheet metal guard which is riveted to the side plate. The auxiliary rod at the top is made from a 7.8 mm. hex cap shoulder screw and nut. The bollards are commercial bollards made for the Petzl Bobbins.
There are no markings on the John Woods bobbin.
John patterned this bobbin after the Petzl Bobbin, Version F.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
