Technical Details

I acquired my Rock Exotic UFO rigging plate from On Rope 1 at the 2011 Old Timer’s Reunion.

My Rock Exotic UFO rigging plate is 88 mm. long, 88 mm. wide, 88 mm. high, and weighs 469 g. Milled from aluminum alloy and hard anodized, the UFO has a dozen 19 mm. holes for rigging and three 9.5 mm. holes for rigging an accessory keeper.

One surface of the UFO is printed on four corners, as follows:

1. "rock usa exotica"
2. a book-with-an-"i" icon
3. "UFO"
4. 36 kN, "11118G," and "0008"

Comments

"UFO" stands for "Univeral Focusing Object." The idea was to expand the flat riging plate concept into three dimensions, hopefully providing additional necessary versatility. The resulting UFO is pretty, but too bulky for day-to-day recreatonal use. The versatility is there, it is the necessity that I question. The bigger-is-better crowd should love it.
