Luke Dunlevy sent me this Singing Tree Rope Wrench in 2011.
My Singing Tree Rope Wrench is 37 mm. long, 126 mm. wide, 41 mm. high, and weighs 212 g.
The Rope Wrench consists of two 2.2 mm. stainless steel plates bolted together with three pieces of 5/16-18 UNC stainless steel all-thread, washers, and lock nuts. Two of the all-thread pass through circular holes, the third (under the logo) passes through a slot that allows adjustment for different size rope. Half-inch (12.7 mm.) diameter, 17.8 mm. long spacers keep the plates apart.
Each plate is printed with "SINGING TREE Rope Wrench," the Singing Tree logo, "Model ZK-1," "Made in Detroit," and "NOT FOR PRIMARY LIFE SUPPORT."
The Rope Wrench is an arborist tool designed for 3/8" to 9/16" (9.5 mm. to 14.3 mm.) rope. Before using, one needs to adjust the Rope Wrench by positioning the lower bushing at the proper location in the slot for the rope diameter chosen.
The rope wrench comes with directions suitable for arborists, not cavers and climbers. Basically, the setup involves placing the Rope Wrench above a friction hitch and pulley, with a tether girth hitched to the former and latter. The photograph in the directions is not clear, but the friction hitch shown looks like a Distel.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
