I made my Rook in 2009.
My Rook is 112 mm. tall, 122 mm. wide, 23 mm. thick, and weighs 127 g. I made it from 1/8" (3.2 mm.) 6061-T6 aluminum, and finished it in a vibratory tumbler.
One of my favorite questions to ask vertical cavers is, "What is a rook?" The answer: "Rook" stands for "rung hook." Carrying a rook makes it easy to clip off and rest on long cable ladder climbs. You know, ladders, great for short drops, … these things:
