Technical Details

I acquired my Paul Stovall Box from John Woods at the 2010 NSS Convention.

My Stovall Box is 57 mm. long, 203 mm. wide, 39 mm. high, and weighs 334 g. It is a double channel chest box consisting of a solid aluminum plate, two aluminum rollers, and swinging aluminum gates with spring steel latches. The rollers and gates are attached to a subtriangular aluminum rib with a stainless steel bolt. The rib is screwed to the back plate. The back plate has a 39 by 9 mm. vertical slot and a 26 by 7 mm. horizontal slot at each end for attaching a harness. All of the aluminum parts are hard anodized.

The plate is stamped "PAUL" and "STOVALL."

Comments

This is a copy of the Fritzke Alpine Box. Paul improved the design by providing a better slot arrangement for attaching a harness. He also added a small hook that extends from the central rib down and back under the back plate. This provides a channel where one can use a piece of cord to attach a pulley for double-bungy climbing, if desired. The mtal pulleys and the hard anodizing will help this box wear better than the Fritzke.

According to John, Paul made a very small number of these (two or three).

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
