I acquired this plate from Graham Barrett in 2007.
The Outside belay plate is 51 mm. long, 46 mm. wide, 10 mm. thick, and weighs 37 g. It has two slots. The larger slot is 31.8 mm. long and 14.4 mm. wide, and the smaller slot is 28.2 mm. long and 13.1 mm. wide. There are two 5 mm. holes for tying a keeper loop.
One side of the plate is stamped "OUTSIDE" and the other "340."
Owen Burgess sent me the following information about Outside:
I notice that you have some things marked ‘Outside’. Outside is a climbing & outdoor gear shop situated in the village of Hathersage, Derbyshire in England (UK). For a while in the 80’s & 90’s they sold own-brand climbing hardware (belay devices & carabiners). This gear was made by Wild Country, also based in Derbyshire.
The Outside also resemblesthe Salewa plate. The second hole allows one to tie a U-shaped keeper cord, if desired.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
