I acquired my Russian, Version A from John E. Weinel, Inc. in 1990.

Version A is 67 mm. long, 110 mm. wide, 10 mm. high, and weighs 88 g. It is milled from aluminum alloy. It has two slots that are 39 mm. long.

There are no markings on this device.

Comments

These Russian "Sticht" plates have auxiliary horns that provide a convenient place for tying off. Personally, I just use an ascender.

The horns on Version A are rather straight. The device shows rather crude workmanship.

Technical Details

I acquired my Russian, Version B from John E. Weinel, Inc. in 1991.

Version B is a sticht-type belay plate. It is milled from aluminum alloy. Mine is 70 mm. long, 96 mm. wide, 10 mm. high, and weighs 77 g. It has two slots that are 39 mm. long.

There are no markings on this device.

Comments

Version B looks to be somewhat better made. The horns are curved and less obtrusive.
