I acquired my Anlo from Christoph Wendel in 2010.
The Anlo Mountain Five AL001 is a notched belay tube. It is forged from aluminum alloy and then soft anodized. It has 2 slots with ribbed V-grooves, a twisted carabiner eye, a release hook, and a stiff plastic-covered cable keeper. Mine is 39 mm. long, 113 mm. wide, 90 mm. high, and weighs 122 g. The slots are 29 mm. long and 13 mm. wide. The top of the Omega oval carabiner that I use for comparing belay tubes sits 28 mm. below the ends of the slots.
One side of the Anlo is etched with a logo "ANLO," a book-with-an"i" icon, "prEN 15151-2," and "Ø 7.8 - 11mm." The other side is etched with rigging illustrations
The first impression of the Anlo is that it is massive, and at 122 grams, it weighs twice the average and five times the minimum of the belay tubes in my collection. The extra mass helps from a thermal perspective, but I find this one to be simply too large for my taste. I would rather carry a lighter belay device and use the savings for an extra carabiner.
The ANLO performs well, and the V notches are more effective than those on many other notched belay tubes.
