I acquired my Red Rose in 2017 as part of Bob Thrun’s collection.
The Red Rose is 103 mm. tall, 60 mm. wide, 37 mm. thick, and weighs 206 g. The shell is 1.3 mm. stainless steel formed into a U-shaped channel. The rope channel is 18 mm. wide. The cam is hand cut from 15.8 mm. (5/8 in.) aluminum alloy plate. The axle pin is 9.5 mm. stainless steel and is secured by a thin spring wire.
There are no markings on this ascender.
The shell is fine but the workmanship on the cam is crude. There was no effort to remove excess material from the cam; instead, it was left with a massive, blocky look - but it works well enough.
The delivery note in Bob's files indicates that the Red Rose was an older Lewis ascender.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
