Snap Link Twist

Snap Link Twist

At first glance this looks like a Bachmann Knot, but notice that the standing line passes through the carabiner. Like the Bachmann, the standing line does not pass through the sling loop (count the coils carefully to see this). The snap link twist does not seem to work as well as the Bachmann Knot. I find that it tends to slip more easily if the same number of wraps are used and jam more easily if a wrap is added to the snap link twist. Of course, the performance of any carabiner knot is strongly influenced by the chosen sling material and standing rope, so it’s risky making generalizations.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
