Bill Forrest introduced Copperheads as a chock. They never gained prominence in that role, but aid climbers found that they made great sketch placements in shallow seams. The ones with aluminum heads are often called Alumiheads. Copperheaads and Alumiheads work best in vertical seams. Circle Heads have an even pull on both sides of the crimp, so they work better in horizontal seams.
